Meet Melanie

Built for Hays

A Kansan by choice for over two decades, Melanie originally moved for a job opportunity and to be closer to family, and decided to make Hays her home.

Melanie is an Instructor Aide for the construction department at Fort Hays Tech North Central. She has and has also spent time:

  • Teaching aircraft manufacturing at Textron Aviation

  • Driving a tractor for a local land management business,

  • Caring for an elderly friend for the last few years of his life

Having seen life in Hays from many different perspectives, Melanie believes Topeka should work for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

As your representative, she will be a strong voice in the State House who listens to the concerns keeping families up at night and works tirelessly to deliver real solutions.

Melanie holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, is a Certified Nurse Aide, and earned a technical certification in Composites Technology. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sewing, crafting, and spending time with her rescue cat, Casey.
